About a year ago, I was in the thick of one of my favorite quadrennial events, the 2012 Presidential Election. I went to PAC meetings, a GOP County convention, and even saw Chris Christie 3 days before Romney announced that Paul Ryan was his choice for VP. It was exciting and the wind seemed to be at our back. Here was a man with solutions to problems that affected Americans, not global citizens.
Then November 6, 2012, happened and it all came crumbling down. All the signs of grief were there, denial (No, let all the votes be counted), anger (they stole the election), bargaining (well maybe something will change, then we can make it), depression (I just need to turn it off and tune out), and acceptance (Well America is just going to go down the tubes, buckle up and hang on).
Yet I would wager I am entering the sixth stage... Heck No!!!!
Romney was Right.
Look around. Detroit...went bankrupt as Obama went on vacation. People are streaming over the boarder to jump the line because we have a president who has promised a free ride. 47% and growing daily of Americans have a check or benefit coming to them signed by the government who can not afford these extensive "freebies". Medicare was cut by $500 million by Obama...wrong...it was $750 million. How is the auto bailout going? Last estimate -$5 billion. Hmm...
So each day I will have a story on how Romney was Right and continues to be so.
